Rest day and More shopping

Wednesday  2nd May -  A day of rest for the kids ( soft effort me thinks) but it gave me time to chase down a camera.

In the last minute packing, I could not for the life of me find the charger for the camera and its old school where you need to take the battery out of the camera and charge it on the charger. So up until this point we have been using the phones, now that we are in Orlando, I am using my phone for the GPS which means  we havebeen missing a lot of pics cause the battery runs out real quick.

So I decided to get a camera. After a bit of shopping around, I decieded upon the Samsung WB150, It has built in WiFi so I can use my phone as a hot spot and upload them straigt away, so if we loose the camera we at least have the pics.

It also has a cool app for my Galaxy S II, so we can use the phone to control the camera and take the pictures...

It also has a really cool cartoon and sketch feature as well... Here is my first attempt of making one..

I got it on sale at Super Target. We also checked out suitcases as I have been filling up the bags quick and it's not looking good for the return of Nando's suitcases.

Universal Studios - day one

Tuesday 1st May.

Today was the first day that we started using our 14 day pass for Universal, as all the websites say to avoide parks like the plague on  Friday - Monday.

So Tuesday we headed to  Universal Studios.  We got there for 9am open, paid our $14 parking for the day and were directed right to our spot. Our parking was Cat in the hat and Row 460. I'm glad I decided to take pictures of where we parked, because by the end of the day I really couldn't remember where we parked.

The Universal ball

The entry to Universal Studios

Walking down the main street while we waited for shows to start running.

The facads for the shops were awesome

There was an old school dinner with old school cars.

There was a dude with an awesome pet owl..
Who scared the hell out of Sian because wher we tried to take the first pic he turned around and looked straight at her.. She eventually wanted to go back and get her pic taken with it.

We found sponge bob and got a picture with him... even though he is the worst character in the world lol
While we were waiting in line we spied a hat shop with some cool hats that we thought we would try on.... I'm kicking myself for not getting the Pharaoh hat

Medusa
 Jurassic park

We get into the terminator two show, and there are theatrics all out... this was the only picture as you arn't allowed to take any pictures...

we then went to the make up and special effects show, here is a picture of the set...

We stumbled across the kwik e mart

Apu

They had flaming Moe energy drinks...

And the donuts from the simpsons... ( I think they are really dunkin donuts)

I did a stint working at the kwiki mart....
 and Nando as well...
 We ran into Nelson

 and the chief

Lunch time and we made a massive burger and everyone said I couldnt take a bite... and I did and it was awesome.

A day of shopping in Orlando

Monday 30th April - Today we spent the day shopping at the Disney outlets and the nike store and a whole bunch of other shops.... My card hasn't maxed out yet so I guess that's a good thing

We brought some aluminium bottles of coke, sprite and diet coke

And upon re reading this post to see if I had talked about my excellent score in Marshall's I have discovered that the entire post is missing... I could cry.

Lets see if I can recap...

Hit heaps of outlets and got a whole bunch of disney shirts, we also found this great shop called Marshall's which gets stock delivered twice a week and its all brand name stuff 9 west, guess, Ralph Lauren etc. They mark everything down to really stupidly cheap prices, but you need to dig throug racks to find the good stuff.

So in my digging I turned up some pretty good stuff, including the most comfortable jeans I have worn in my life, besides my jag jeans. I scored these things for $15 and after wearing them I went in search of where I can buy them normally. I discovered that thes things retail from $100 - $200 a pop.. well there goes that idea, and then i was trying fancy google searches for outlet and discontinued styles and ended up sticking in the code from the jeans to find that Macy's online had them as clearance, although they were $70 a pop and they were having 10% off.

So I tried ordering them but the stupid online store had one price for Americans, which required a CC that had an American billing address, so It wouldnt let me order it unless I used the Aussie based version, which didnt have the discount and was more expensive and then needed international posting, becuase it would only send to home...

So I had a chat with the Macy's chick online and she gave me the name of two stores close that had 2 pairs in stock... Great, but it was late by this point so I put it down to go another day.

Now back to the original day of shopping. We hit up the nike factory outlets and Nando had a field day ever pair of shoe that he found was $30... on the clearance shelf, my foot on the other hand is a common size 10 over here which means the clearance section is slim pickings, but the full priced stuff was cheap compared to home $40 - $99. They were also having an additional 20% off so we grabbed a bunch of clearance track pants for $9 a pop and a bunch of shirts, socks and shorts.

Next I stumbled across a skechers outlet. Now I have never been into a sketchers shop as they have always been expensive, but I know a lot of girls from EB rave about them and how cheap they are in the states. So we poped in there and had a look they had some nice shoes, average price, then there is the clearance section up the back and there were a tonn of shoes in my big foot size, so scouring for ones that I think are cute and trying them on and then a woman told me that she was told to take an extra 30% off the lowest ticketed price... Sweet. I poped down to check this with sales guy and he confirmed it, so $1000 worth of shoes later for $200 ish I was happy...

We also found a little shop that sold legal tender $1.00 notes  but instead of the normal dude on it you can have Darth Vada, Michael Jackson, Stewy from family guys etc. So we got a Darth Vada one, and a couple of bumper stickers.

There are a tonne of shops with mad slogan shirts, we brought a few and took pics of some of the other ones.

Third day in Miami and Driving to Orlando

29th April. Up early to pack everything up and the hotel offers to store all the bags before we leave, so we take them down check them in and head back to the outlet to do some final shopping.

We went to Hooters for lunch and got a Hooters glass...

Sarah and her lunch

Sian and her hot dog

 Nando's philly steak sandwich

Curly fries

We found  true blood drink in a DVD/ Electronics store.

Yet another sign on how behind Australia is... there is Wifi on the buses over here.
 Hollywood Orlando
We found protein bars with  Snickers.

After lunch and shopping we headed back to the hotel to pick up our bags and we were on our way to Orlando.

Now one thing I am noticing with driving around is that there are not many speed signs around, and even when there are American's don't like to stick to the speed limits.

It took a few hours, but we made it to our destination, we stopped of at Walmart first to grab some supplies and then headed to the house.

We are staying at Windsor Hills Resort in Kissimmee, which is a gated resort with resort facilities and we are staying in a Town House. Here are some pics of our House.

Time to grab something to eat and we head for Red Lobster..... MMMM Lobster

They brought us out some biscuits, they are savory scones.. yum...

We ordered an entree of mushrooms stuffed with lobster, but they had capsicum in them so they took them away before I could take a picture.... Nando was disapointed as he wanted to eat them even though I couldn't, and they smelled fantastic.

Next came the main course, it was a plate with a bit of everything on it, Lobster tail, crumbed prawns, garlic prawns, broccoli and snow crab. Sooo Goood.

Me playing with the crab claws...

We did get some Key Lime Pie and another cake, but took it to go so it was packed up and it got demolished before I could take pictures.

I am as happy as a pig in mud... We can't get Fluff in  Australia anymore so I have a nice big container,.

Here are some cool things that we found whilst out shopping

a Mega sized Redbull

We found a shirt from Chris.

a cool bumper sticker.. and I did buy it HAHA...

We also got a legal tender $1 note that has Darth Vader in the middle... I put it away in a spot where it wont get squashed.... will have to get it out later and take a picture.
